Jesus touches our lives through the sacraments. Our celebrations of the sacraments are signs of Jesus’ presence in our lives and a means for receiving his grace. The Church celebrates seven sacraments.

Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism “is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn…we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission” –Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213
Infant Baptisms are held by appointment. In order to have your child baptized, the parents must attend a parent meeting. Please call the office at 440-466-3427 for more information.

Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation offers us the opportunity to repair our relationship with God when we damage it with sin.  The grace offered through this post-baptismal Sacrament of Healing enables us to receive the graces of other sacraments by restoring us to a “state of grace.”
For children to receive first Penance, two parent meetings are required for parents to help their children prepare for the sacrament.

Eucharist
The Eucharist is the “Source and Summit” of our faith!  Christ is truly and fully present to us in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Faith formation helps prepare young people for this sacrament which is normally celebrated in the 2nd grade. Two parent meetings are also required for parents to help their children in the preparation of this sacrament. 

Confirmation
Confirmation strengthens and seals the graces of Baptism, helping us to live as disciples of Christ in the world.
Two consecutive years of faith formation are required for this sacrament which is normally celebrated in the 8th grade.  For example, beginning in the 7th grade, a child should eventually celebrate confirmation in the 8th grade. If, however, a child begins at another time (e.g., the 9d grade), he or she will celebrate confirmation after the second year of formation (e.g., the 10th grade). Those preparing to receive confirmation are required to attend regular meetings, two retreats, and three workshops on the basis of Catholic faith. It is expected that candidates attend Sunday Mass. For students in 7th Grade – High School

RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) classes meet on Thursday evenings. We had 5 candidates go though RCIA this year. Please contact Lindsay Fuentes, for more information. 440-466-3427 Private instruction is also available.
